It’s a New Year. What’s Strong with You?
During the tumultuous holidays a technique to make you stronger
I love this Fitbit tagline. It is empowering without being offensive. Inspirational while being real.
Even though it’s a promotional verse, we need to use it to our advantage.
What’s strong with me, challenges that nagging voice that keeps whispering - I'm not good enough. This negative chatter tells us that we always screw up. That we don’t measure up. But we can tell these thoughts to go screw…
By changing our self-talk we change our lives.
Negative thoughts have the vestigial purpose of keeping us aware of external dangers. So they don’t change easily.
But through practice and meditation, we lessen the impact of negative self-talk.
From what’s wrong with me to what’s strong with me. From I hate myself to I love myself.
Repeating positive thoughts creates change.
It takes time but practicing positive self-talk makes us ready to tackle the hard challenges of life.
