Thanks for your thoughtful article. These are lovely countries but we take care of them and not vice versa. They get overtaken by the country next door, who are they going to call? Yes. US of A. They run their economies in the ground? Direct dial to Washington. You want to start and grow a business where are you moving to? You get the point.

I agree it would be nice to live in a smaller country where expectations are lower and their is more of a neighbord and small town take care of each other mentality. I would love that.

But we have been on the socialism track for 4 years now and on a macro scale even the uber-world-trusted US Dollar is on shaky grounds. America has been the leader in providing opportunities for individuals who come here the world over. But more government programs flooding the country with money that is merely printed at will is not sustainable.

So your points are very well taken on health care, but where are the solutions that don't need the Washington printing press and are handled by the private sector? Or changing the laws and the politicians who seem to have life long tenure? Where is the self-responsibility baked into the solutions? Why have we lost that American tradition of self-dependence?

You article is very rationale but read any artilce complaining on what we don't have and see if any of them have solutions that don't have at their core, "Uncle Sam needs to take care of all problems."

Just a thought. Am following. Thanks for writing.
