Like Sandy below, former story nerd here---waiting for the 'band to get back together, man....' Story kept me glued. You had to know I was cheering for you to do both. I understood but didn't completely understand why it wasn't possible. But the heart sank when you didn't do the tryout. It reminded me of too many "what ifs" personally. Great story. It made me feel and think.
