Great summary, Russell. It is awful, awful. Can't say or think enough about it. Dont know what these super small towns can do up against a single AR weapon with no 911 Swat team. Certainly more than they did. But without power to go after and sue the living crap out of the entire supply chain that profits off of the AR business, blaming a single police department isn't going to change a thing.

Imagine if arrest warrants immediately went out to anyone involved in the sale, procurement and manufacturing? How about parents of the killers? Not likely, but would behavior change?

The far right Republicans are a lost cause, but there are plenty of moderates who can make a change.

Democrats are terrified to take action, unless it's in alignment with their constituencies. I still think term limits would allow for Congress to be braver. Lifetime tenure was never in the framers goals and is a back breaker to real change.
