A lot of people outside New England forget that northern textile mills were totally dependent on southern cotton. That said, don't forget the famous abolishionists who lived here, spoke out, and more importantly founded anti-slavery newsletters. And Mr. Lincoln did more for reducing slavery than any American president while running the most fragmented new country in the history of countries. Thanks for the new enlightening insights though.
